Kevin Fontaine is Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He holds a doctorate in psychology from the Victoria University of Manchester, Manchester, England. Dr. Fontaine’s research
focuses on promoting health behaviors in adults with chronic diseases such as obesity and arthritis.
Dr. Fontaine is the author
of Living the Fruit of the Spirit: Lessons from Barney Rubble and a co-author of Rational Strength Training. Dr. Fontaine is also a contributor to
several health and fitness publications and websites, including Hardgainer, Master Trainer, and Cncbass.com. He is
also the author of over 60 scientific papers and book chapters. His research
has been funded by both the federal government and private foundations, including The Arthritis Foundation, The American College
of Rheumatology, and the National Institutes of Health.
Kevin has appeared
on national radio shows and is a frequent contributor to the media for his expertise on health behavior, obesity, and arthritis. He also lectures widely on health topics to both professional and lay audiences.
Born in Fall River, Massachusetts in 1964, he resides in Essex, Maryland with his wife, 11-year old son and their 5
cats.
